is a partnership between Soul Survivor and World Vision which seeks to practically love and serve the poor.

Our aim is to help transform the lives of vulnerable children and communities through World Vision's Child Sponsorship programs. Since the partnership started in 2009, we have seen over 115 children sponsored within the Umzimkhulu Area Development Program (ADP) in South Africa.

We also help to engage church communities with God's heart for justice. In doing so we run events throughout the year, send teams over to visit the work in Umzimkhulu and provide updates, prayer requests, information and further ways to engage with justice in out world.

WHERE is Umzimkhulu?

Umzimkhulu is an Area Development Program (ADP) run by World Vision. The ADP has been running since 2003 and is expected to finish up in 2018, it is currently heading into the third and final stage of the program.  Umzimkhulu is a predominantly rural landscape consisting of 32 villages and there are 2,950 children registered through World Vision.

Can I sponsor a child?

Of course!

By sponsoring a child in Umzimkhulu you help meet the long-term needs in your sponsored child's community such as education, clean water and sanitation, healthcare, improved agriculture and income generation. We have been encouraged over the years hearing the stories of how individuals and groups have come to sponsor their child. There is an opportunity to sponsor children at conference as well as on soul.teams. However if that's not convenient please feel free to send an email and we'll help set it up!

Throughout the year we would love for you to join us in journey. Below are some dates for your diary to pen in!

  • soul.conference // 14- 18 April // - there will be seminars and venues such as the cafe and cinema that will be open throughout the week.
  • 40 Hour Famine // 14 - 16 August // - there will be a combined youth night to kick off the Famine with a bang! Get your youth group together to take the challenge, make an impact in Rwanda!
  • church series // Oct, Nov// - coming soon!

We'd love to have you involved in all these exciting events! For more information check back here or email us

“Like slavery and apartheid, poverty is not natural. It is people who have made poverty and tolerated poverty, and it is people who will overcome it. And overcoming poverty is not a gesture of charity. It is an act of justice. It is the protection of a fundamental human right, the right to dignity and a decent life.”
— Nelson Mandela
