the story

Over the last few years God has been stirring up a passion for song writing in the individuals of the EP team. This has been spurred on by Matt.

Encouraged by what God seemed to be doing in the worship team individually, Brayden, Matilda, Matt, Sam and Rocket gathered together following conference 2019. During this meeting the concept of putting together an album for conference 2020 was sparked. At this point the dream seemed hard to imagine and almost unattainable.
Nonetheless, based on the values God has given Soul Survivor, they sought to write an album that would encourage young people in their times of worship to God.

Over the coming months the team gathered to be inspired, share ideas and collaborate with one another.

During this time a conversation started with our friends in New Zealand – Tom & Anna Field. There was a real desire to involve them in the creation and refinement process of the album.
At the end of November, the team received an invite from Tom to spend some time with his team in New Zealand!  Keen to gain wisdom and guidance on their 8-10 newly-developed songs, the team funded themselves to travel to Wellington, New Zealand.

After a few days of solid songwriting, and refinement the team flew home from New Zealand with 5 songs that would be finalised over December and January. Through God’s goodness and grace, Matt was able to connect with producer Luke Munns, a talented musician, with both a heart for the project, and the ability to produce high quality music.

The album was recorded and produced throughout the month of January, and with advice from Tom Smith (Soul Survivor UK Worship Pastor) the team released their first single on March 6, 2020.

Throughout the whole process God proved Himself a way maker. The team were encouraged by constant affirmations, as God paved the way for a swift and smooth song writing & album producing journey.

The album “More of You”, written by the Soul Survivor Collective and produced by Luke Munns, is something we could attribute to none other than the Lord.

Looking to the future, the team have started the process of seeking and planning the next steps, including pursuing new avenues with the existing songs, and working on creating new ones. Your support and ongoing prayer is greatly appreciated as this journey continues.
